Leonardo da Vinci’s Holy Supper

Here we partially transcribe the teachings of Emy, and her interpretation of Leonardo da Vinci’s Holy Supper picture. These teachings in their entirety can be found in the book “Luz e Sombra” published in 1975.

Emy´s words:

“Leonardo da Vinci was an initiate and put all his knowledge of astrology into his Holy Communion.

At the time when faith and science were separating (Renaissance) and astrology was being distorted, Leonardo bequeathed to humanity all his knowledge of occultism in the form of a painting.

But he was also a scientist: a hundred years before Galileo, he placed his discoveries about the orbits of planets in the celebrated portrait of the Mona Lisa. The critics, however, preferring to analyze Gioconda’s enigmatic smile, forgot what was most important: his hidden message.

In the geometric way of distributing volumes, lights, objects, Leonardo transmits not only an art but an entire universal knowledge. Everything in Holy Communion is symbology. In addition to being an astrological discourse, this painting is a real treatise on numerology.”

There are several interpretations regarding astrology and the twelve apostles. But the order in which they are distributed, the biotypology, the gestures, the facial and body expression they present at Holy Communion, coincided perfectly with everything that Emy had found in observing the faces, gestures, and lives of the people in whom had been making horoscopes for nearly thirty years.

At Santa Supper, we can see that the ceiling beams, the lines on the floor, the upper lines of the tapestries on the walls, all converge on the forehead of Christ. The circle above the door has its center in your heart. This means that he radiates the light that illuminates the world. He is the unity of life, surrounded by the twelve fundamental types of human beings, each apostle being a receiver of the twelve basic forces originated by the Trinity of Light and its spectrum, which form twelve poles and six axes.

Astrology uses the distribution of signs, which goes from Aries to Pisces, from left to right. In Astronomy, these signs are distributed from right to left. As the horoscope is the mirror of the universe, its order is the opposite. Leonardo used the astronomy position, from right to left looking.

Compare the position of the apostles in the drawing, starting in the right with Simon (Aries – 1). Each sign on the right has its corresponding one at the left (Libra – 7) and so on.

First Axis

1 – Aries (Simon) / 7 – Libra (John)

ARIES is a leader who uses energy and initiative, encouraging decisions and struggles. In the painting, Simon is sitting at the head of the table, imposing with his hands the directive to be taken. Aries, or sheep, is the one who frankly shows his combative personality, the strength of his head (Simon’s forehead is strongly illuminated) defending the truth.  Action, courage, and awareness of one’s own will. The “I am”, the being who acts according to the conclusion of his own head.

LIBRA is the sign that is 180 degrees in opposition to Aries. It is the symbol of harmony, justice, and beauty. John’s countenance shows harmony and beauty, the one who meditates and measures, the coordinator. The collaborator is symbolized in the crossed hands.

John appears learning, as with this gesture he softens the impact of Aries energy.

Anyone who is Aries and likes to use the sword must learn that one cannot fight without measuring the consequences of his truth and impulse. It is necessary to consider the rights of others. Anyone from Libra should only measure the rights of others without imposing themselves. Aries imposes, but must yield. Libra yields, but must learn to impose and act.

Every Aries action ends in war if he doesn’t use the Scales. Every search for harmony, justice, and beauty ends up in imbalance and anarchy if there is no energy and action. Christ’s word to Aries is: “Be meek”. To Libra, “I bring you the sword”. The Aries – Libra axis aims to find a balance between the action of the self and the rights of the other.

Law of opposites and movement of life

“Previously, a reproduction of Santa Supper by Leonardo da Vinci was present in almost Brazilian homes. The board was placed facing the entrance to the room, so that “the bread could enter the house”.

Today, these reproductions have disappeared from homes. They say this happened in name of so-called good taste. I believe it was just a matter of fad and I think they should come back. At least for reading rooms, schools, libraries, in short, all the places where children go to be educated. Just for spiritual bread to enter the soul. The Picture should be placed in a conspicuous place (to the soul, of course) so that everyone can see the beauty before us. Everything you seek, you will have the moment you understand the law of universal opposites and the reason for the movement of life. And this is portrayed in Leonardo da Vinci’s Communion in the form of a silent speech.”

The complete teachings of the 6 axes are contained in the book “Luz e Sombra”.
